These Terms of Service govern your use of the Sealead Freight website and our ocean, road, air and parcel freight services. By requesting a quote, booking a shipment or otherwise using our services, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
"Shipper" means the party booking or tendering goods for carriage. "Carrier" means Sealead Freight acting as carrier or as forwarding agent. "Consignment" means the goods entrusted to us for transport. "Services" means the freight, customs coordination and tracking services we provide.
Quotes are valid for the period stated at the time of issue and depend on space and equipment being available when you book. Rates exclude duties, taxes and fees payable by the Shipper, and any surcharges that apply at the time of shipment. A booking is confirmed only once we send written confirmation.
The Shipper is responsible for the accuracy of the information provided about the consignment, for packing and labelling the goods correctly, and for confirming the goods are lawful to transport. Unless we are expressly instructed to handle customs on your behalf, import and export declarations remain the Shipper's responsibility.
We do not carry illegal goods, undeclared dangerous goods, or anything prohibited by the carriers, ports or countries involved in the route. Dangerous goods must be declared in advance and packaged to the regulations that apply to the mode of transport.
Our liability for loss of or damage to goods is governed by the international convention that applies to the mode of transport (Hague-Visby for sea, the Montreal Convention for air, or the CMR Convention for road), together with our Carrier Terms. Cargo insurance is not included automatically. We can arrange cover on request, and recommend it for high-value or fragile shipments.
Invoices are due within the period stated on the invoice, unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. We may hold a consignment where charges relating to it, or to a previous shipment on the same account, remain unpaid.
Cancellations must be given in writing. The Shipper remains responsible for costs already incurred, including space or equipment committed and third-party charges, up to the point of cancellation.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profit or lost business. Our liability for a claim is capped at the limit set by the applicable convention, or at the freight charge for the shipment where no convention applies.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. Any dispute is subject to the courts of Mersin, Türkiye.
We may update these terms from time to time. The version in effect at the date of your booking applies to that shipment. The current version is always published on this page, with its last-updated date shown above.
